MANCHESTER — The state’s health care exchange under the federal Affordable Care Act will hold an enrollment fair in town on Dec. 14.
Access Health CT has scheduled the fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Hospital.
“This fair presents an excellent opportunity for people needing in-person help with enrolling for health care insurance coverage,” said state Rep. Joe Diminico,a Democrat whose district includes parts of Manchester and Glastonbury. “People also can receive assistance in Medicaid enrollment.”
If a person signs up before Dec. 15, coverage will begin on Jan. 1. The fair, to be held in the hospital’s conference room, is meant to assist individuals, families and small businesses and allow people to compare available insurance plans.
People also may be able to save money or be eligible for a tax credit on insurance, even if coverage already exists.
To receive help, make an appointment by calling 855-805-4325, or enroll online at http://goo.gl/tp2eez.
